Outreach

MCGSO has initiated a number of outreach activities for people of all ages across the DC Metro Area. These activities are meant to engage biomedical graduate students at Georgetown with children and adults within the community in meaningful scientific conversations.

MCGSO initiated outreach activities:

  • Science Night at Hardy Middle School
  • Annual Food Drive
  • Brain Awareness Week (BAW)
  • Annual Neuroscience Public Lecture
  • Science Movie Nights
  • Hardy Middle School visits GUMC

2021 Food Drive (November 12 – December 10)

Thank you for donating to our Fall 2021 Food Drive! Below are some results from this year’s food drive:

2020 Capital Area Food Bank Drive Results:
Thank you once again to all who generously donated to the Annual Fall Food Drive 2020!!  With your help, we were able to donate over $2,000.

Previous Capital Area Food Bank Drive Results

By encouraging competition between different Biomedical Graduate Programs, but ultimately amassing all provisions into one large donation for Capital Area Food Bank, we were able to collect a total of 412 pounds of food (972 cans) and $685.00 to support members of the Washington DC community!

Congratuations to the MS in Integrative Neurscience Program for their winning donation of 680 cans!
